Singer-songwriter Jhene Aiko blessed us with her skincare routine on social media. Though it’s not her first time opening up about what she uses on her skin, her routine mixes professional laser treatments with preventative care and products loaded with antioxidants.
When asked about her routine, Aiko responded:
I get Fraxel about twice a year. It’s an intense laser treatment that improves texture, acne scars, and enlarged pores. It’s kinda expensive and hurts like shit. Your face micro scabs.. the scabs fall off gradually…over a period of like 7 days, and then a new layer of skin is revealed…your face stays swollen for like another week. It’s all so worth it tho lol. I keep up the results with Alastin Skin Care, IS Clinical Serums, Cerave wash, Lancer Scrub and Circell ab serum. Also, I take collagen pills, drink kangen water, apple cider vinegar and take Super Food by Dr. Shulzes daily! lol hope this answered your question
Answer our question it did! In a world in which celebrities share skincare routines packed with water and coconut oil
pretend all they use is water and coconut oil, Aiko’s routine was honest and typical for a celebrity. And expensive. Very expensive. Let’s break down some of the products found in her routine.
Fraxel lasering is truly the future of skincare. The FDA approved device restores skin to its original state. You are literally left with perfect skin as it eliminates dark spots, acne scars, fine lines, surgical scars, and wrinkles. The best part is, it is safe for all skin types and tones, but it is recommended that women with deeper skin tones take it slow and receive fewer sessions, hence why Aiko only receives treatment 2 times a year. Aiko visits Dr. Ramin Sarshad, M.D. at Cosmetique Aesthetics.
Cost: $800 (average) per session
Alastin Skincare is a brand that is specifically designed for post-procedural treatments, like Fraxel. The products are gentle, regenerative and protective.
Cost: $300 for the Procedure Enhancement System
iS Clinical Serum provides anti-aging, anti-acne and brightening benefits. It heals acne, reduces redness and lightens hyperpigmentation.
CeraVe cleansers were developed by dermatologists to repair and strengthen the skin barrier. The healthier your barrier, the healthier your skin will feel and look.
Lancer The Method: Polish is the first step in Lancer’s 3-step skin care regimen. The scrub features sea minerals, pumpkin extract, and pomegranate extracts to cleanse the skin and improve circulation.
Circcell ABO Serum Face Rejuvenation delivers luminous skin, regardless of environmental changes. It promises to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, tone skin and brightens skin tone.
She also touched on ingesting collagen pills, which I wrote about here and drinking lots of water, ACV and other nutritional supplements. The total cost of the topical treatments? Roughly $1500.
