First thing that hit my mind when I smelled it: “Hey girl! You smell familiar”. That’s my biggest problem with celebrity fragrances. One smells like another that smells like another and sometimes it’s so obvious it’s frustrating. This is one of those fragrances.
“When I was creating Killer Queen, I was really inspired by the idea of a strong, confident woman in power and that is exactly what I hoped to put into this fragrance, something that brings out the power inside of you.”
Katy Perry Killer Queen was released by Coty only a few days ago. The bottle is reminiscent of a Queen’s jewel –shaped scepter. I like my bottles to stand, so from a personal point of view I hate the bottle. It’s cute, but it does not stand, so I’m not in love.
Killer Queen has top notes of berry and plum, middle notes are very floral, but I’m not a fragrance expert so I cant tell you what flower, and the dry down is a glorious and obvious cashmere.
But there’s a problem…. this fragrance smells familiar…..
It took all of five minutes to figure out what it smelled like… Beyonce Heat (the original one), minus the Vicks Nyquil drydown that Beyonce Heat has to it (you know it does). Extract that Nyquil scent from Heat and TADA! You got Killer Queen! The other scent the drydown reminds me of? Glade Cashmere Woods… yes.. the air freshener. I was really tickled because that’s my favorite home fragrance. Now, I can walk around smell like Cashmere Woods and berries.. all day long!
You get your average 8-10 hours from this fragrance before it fades away so that’s a plus!
