Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara is part of the Dark Spell Collection for Fall 2013. Faux Lash mascara advertises as a solution for extreme volume and length. This is a fiber free mascara so you are solely depending on the formula to provide volume and length.
Laura Mercier’s Faux lash is packaged in a long taupe colored tube with Laura Mercier’s name branded on it in lowercase letters. The tube is very long but not very thick, it’s easy to handle and carry, but would not fit in my makeup bag (I have a small one)
The brush is huge, so I assume it will be the star of the show along with the formula for giving volume and length. The wand is easy to hold to apply the mascara.
The tube distributes product evenly on the body of the brush, but there is a tad bit of extra product at the tip of the wand. The brush gives really good definition, coating each lash. My lashes were not clumped together after application, and that’s always a plus.
The mascara itself has that loud classic mascara scent, reminds me of Maybelline’s Great Lash I think. I could not smell it when applying, only when I sniffed the wand itself.
The formula is available in two shades, Sierra Brown and Black. I have Black. The mascara applies well and evenly from the base of the lash to the tip, I only caught one clump. It does wonders for volume, but only enhances length slightly. My lashes are slightly blacker, but not shiny as promised.
This is a great mascara for a daytime look. It’s very work appropriate, it’s not dramatic and glam. Check the before and after below:
