The lover of drugstore foundations is back with another foundation review. This time we are covering L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation. This foundation is good for women looking to blur fine lines and imperfections with a light coverage foundation that comes with SPF protection.
I am a stickler when it comes to wearing foundation during the summer months. I work hard during the winter getting my skin in prime condition to be less dependent on foundation during the spring and summer months. If I absolutely must wear foundation, it has to be light in coverage, and it must contain SPF protection, SPF 35 or better. So when testing this foundation, those are the factors I was looking for.
It’s a tube with a gold cap and gold trim around the top. There is 1.3 ounces of product in this tube.
How to use
Apply foundation with brush or fingertips, blending in an outward motion as needed.

One thing that I did take issue with was shade range. While L’Oreal is a brand that generally makes foundation shades for black women, this foundation line excludes women of darker skin tones. I barely made the cut and Mercedes of Beyond Beauty Lounge had the same issue. I picked Honey Beige which was the next to darkest shade, and I think she picked Classic Tan which was the darkest. What about women darker than us that have imperfections to hide?
The texture of this foundation was very creamy and easy to apply. Blending was not a problem. The match of the foundation was good, but I did have a problem with a white cast on my skin (from the included sunscreen) that I toned down with a finishing powder and bronzer to warm my face. That was not a problem because that happens to me with a lot of foundations.
Coverage is light to medium and not buildable. The heavier I went, the weirder my skin looked thanks to that SPF. The finish of this foundation is almost satin, so you get this beautiful natural glow. I loved that.
But were my needs met? Yes and No. L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation IS ultra-light. While there is some SPF protection, it’s only SPF 18 which is very light coverage and I prefer SPF 35 or better. While a product that contains SPF 18 will offer some protection, it will not protect against sun damage.
