Disclosure: I received press samples, all thoughts are my own
Milani Cosmetics released a limited edition line of cosmetics celebrating the shade blue. The collection includes three mascaras, one nail lacquer and one lipstick. Check out what Milani has to say about Bella Blue:
“B” is for bella…and bold. The most daring piece of our Bella Blue collection, this full coverage, one-stroke lip color is atonce fashion forward and totally girly, in a powdery sky-blue kind of way. Wear it with the other tone-on-tone players in the Bella Blue lineup, or as an unexpected pop of color against a backdrop of neutral cheeks and eyes. It’s limited edition, so snap it right up.
We already covered the Bella Blue Lipstick, now it’s time to review the Lash Art Colored Mascara Trio. There are three shades available: Mediterranean Blue, Azure, and Bella Blue. Keep reading for descriptions and swatches.
Mediterranean Blue is a blue mascara leaning towards the shade of teal. Pigmentation is excellent and does well with two coats.
Azure is a tad different from Mediterranean Blue as it is slightly darker and contains shimmer. This shimmer is not well pronounced when the mascara is applied, but pigmentation is about the same and does well with two coats.
Bella Blue, the prettiest of them all, is a medium toned blue with blue shimmer. Like Azure, the shimmer is not well pronounced when applied to the lashes. Bella blue has the best pigmentation of the trio, and applied effortlessly in two coats.
Overall this trio is much better than the shades that Maybelline released in August of 2013. Better pigmentation, easier to use, a brush more appropriate for applying a colored mascara, and excellent definition. They do nothing in the volume category, but you do get decent length.
Milani Cosmetics Lash Art Colored Mascara can still be found on displays in Walgreens. The collection is no longer available on Milani’s website.
