Mommy Duties: The Summer Survival Kit

Every year I have an illogical fantasy. The kids will be home from school for almost three months and I will be able to blog till I drop. Spoiler alert: That never happens.

I have two children going to high school, one attending a charter school and two moving to the next grade in elementary school. My summer is packed full of summer camps, summer reading, running to the library, and hopefully and vacation or two. There’s only one problem- my bladder.

My bladder truly stops the fun from happening. After 5 vaginal deliveries and a hysterectomy, my bladder is weak. Sneezing, laughing too hard, even jumping up and down can become an embarrassing problem. I learned to get over the embarrassment of light bladder leakage, or LBL, now it’s all about maintaining it.

My summer survival kit consists of a notebook for those random, burning ideas; lip balm, because it’s too hot for makeup, and at the very least I could keep my lips moisturized; sunscreen, because safety first and the true star of the show: Poise® Microliners.

Poise® Microliners are designed to provide just enough absorbency to handle the occasional leak. Surprisingly absorbent and incredibly thin, they offer discreet Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) protection to help keep you feeling dry and comfortable every day. Plus, they are so thin, you will feel like you are wearing nothing at all.

Take that bladder leakage. And yay for a dry summer! What’s in your summer survival kit? Do you have LBL?

Purchase Poise® Microliners at your local Walmart!

You know – I love this idea – we’re always on the go during the summer and making sure I have some basic necessities wherever whenever is just smart. LBL happens and it’s better to be prepared than embarrassed!

As a pregnant mama I can totally agree with keeping these stocked in your purse at all times 😀 haha – you sound like you have an awesome busy summer ahead of you! Here’s hoping you get a little time for you to rest, recharge and blog <3

For years my mother kept telling me about LBL and I really didn’t pay any attention to what it was until it started happening to me. Thank god that there is something out there to help us Women out! I like to keep these in the back of my desk at work or in a over night bag, I keep in the car.

I know how bothersome light bladder leaks are. My mom used to tell me, “Wait until you’re older.” She’s right. I’m happy that there are products that address this issue. I also use Poise as my first choice.

This is one of those things about getting older that I never really paid attention to. But recently I’ve heard my friends talking about light bladder leaks and I realize it is more of an issue than I first realized. For now I don’t have this issue, but I know it is more than likely in my future!
