NARS Cosmetics reformulated their lipsticks, made a few changes and the NARS Audacious line was born. Audacious features a light weight formula and serious color payoff. I received samples of Liv and Jeanne, two lipsticks that are right on time for the Fall season. Keep reading for swatches and my general thoughts on these two pretty ladies.
From left to right:
NARS Jeanne is a warm rusty red with a semi-matte finish. Jeanne was buildable as well, with excellent color payoff from the tube. Jeanne was also not drying, lasted about 5 hours and didn’t stain my lips.
NARS Liv is a medium toned smoky purple with a semi-matte finish. I found Liv to be buildable, you could easily apply a little, or go bolder using a lip brush. When I applied using the lipstick tube directly, color pay off was very pigmented with just one swipe across the lips. Liv was not drying to my lips, wore well for about 4 hours before it started to fade, and didn’t leave any stains behind.
Now the biggest question has been, are they worth the $32 price tag. I’m going to say no and I will tell you why- longevity. If these lipsticks wore for 8 or more hours, I would be shouting my praises from the rooftop. Pigmentation is excellent, I love that the shades are buildable, I’m a big fan of the creamy texture and the lightweight feel on the lips, but knowing that I cant party the night away (if I was a partyer) without having to reapply broke the deal for me. A lipstick at this price has to do it all for me to seal the deal.
