Happy summer, everyone! I hope you’re keeping cool in this hot weather. It’s been like an oven here in Charleston lately.
I’ve got quite possibly one of the best pastel collections ever! Pretty Serious has added a new line-up of pastels to their crème Pet Names collection.
Bunny Foo-Foo (two coats): pastel minty green
Cutie Patootie (two coats): pastel purple
Doodle Bug (two coats): pastel sky blue
Fluffykins (two coats): bright lighter-toned hot pink
Little Duckling (two coats): pastel yellow
Peachie Poo (two coats): pastel peach
Why do I love these pastels? I love how bright and borderline neon they are. While other brands have been releasing pastels, none of them are as saturated as the Pastel Pet Names. It’s definitely a spring collection you can wear into the summer.
The formula, however, is a bit finicky. They’re pigmented but application can be a bit streaky. You’ll have to be careful applying this polish. I used two coats for the whole collection but you may need three for Little Duckling and Peachie Poo.
Also, if you’re a nail art fiend, check out what More Nail Polish (http://www.morenailpolish.com/2016/05/pretty-serious-pastel-pets-names.html) has done with them! They’re perfect for watermarbling, a skill I thoroughly lack.
As a bonus, I also have the latest Cocktail Crush top coat, Happy Heart.
Happy Heart (one coat over Fluffykins): pink to purple glass-flecks in a pink base with holographic heart glitter
You’ll definitely need to fish out the heart glitter, but it’s not too difficult. If this polish is worn over black, it gives the polish a purple cast.
I have some bad news: 4 out of the 6 polishes in the Pastel Pet Names collection are currently sold out. However, they will be restocking on June 25! Don’t fret, this collection is permanent so you can keep it on the back burner if you’re currently on a no-buy.
