I have fond memories of the classic, timeless fragrance that is White Diamonds. I was introduced to this fragrance back in the early 90’s thanks to my late, great Aunt Maggie. This fragrance and Clinique Aromatic Elixir were her boudoir staples.

During my teenage years, I was caught up in the trendy fragrances like Curve Crush, Lucky Brand and Juicy Couture. As I grew older, I grew an immense appreciation for the classics like Chanel No. 5, Red Door, Tresor, Poeme and White Diamonds. I still have a bottle that wear every now and then, but now White Diamonds has created  new version of the classic scent with a touch of sparkle- White Diamonds Lustre.

Regina Hall and recently added Nia Long, two beautiful, elegant and classy black actresses, were picked as ambassadors of the fragrance.

The basic packaging of White Diamonds Lustre has basically remained the same, except the new bottle’s glass is a deep purple shade and the cap and bottle accents are silver.

I am by no means a fragrance expert, but there were some easily recognizable notes

Top Notes: Top notes have to do with what you smell as soon as you spray. You could smell the pear and bergamot.

Middle Notes: Middle notes are what you smell for the first hour or so. I caught the recognizable jasmine.

Bottom Notes: Bottom notes, also known as the dry down scent, is what you will smell for the duration of the fragrance. There is a noticeable hint of Sandalwood.

White Diamonds comparison

Compared to the original scent, White Diamonds Lustre is more youthful and appropriate for everyday wear. White Diamonds shares the same top and middle notes, but there is a vast difference in the bottom notes. White Diamonds has a very rare bottom note of rose, compared to Sandalwood in Lustre.

White Diamonds Lustre lasts on the skin for about 8 hours before I couldn’t smell it anymore.  This is a great scent for middle aged women as a scent to wear to work, church, or a night out on the town with someone you love.
