3 Ways to Be More Beautiful On The Inside

How we look on the outside is important, yet how we feel on the inside and who we are as a person is what really counts.  Indeed, it’s our inner beauty that most people resonate and connect with rather than our external appearance.

In a world where we’re all becoming more and more obsessed with how we look, in part due to the selfie culture of social media and the airbrushed models appearing on glossy magazines, we can sometimes forget that it’s on the inside what really counts.

Now, that’s not to say the external doesn’t matter, as we are all judged on our external appearance which is why so many people opt to see an aesthetic doctor such as a cosmetic surgeon in order to enhance or restore their beautiful looks.  Then there are the everyday routine maintenance tasks such as keeping a bright white smile or having a great haircut in order to create a good first impression – but, as a lot of articles on beauty tend to remain on the surface, in this article, we’re going to take a look at three ways to be more beautiful on the inside, where it truly counts, as a human being.

The benefits of smiling and laughing more often are huge; the physical health benefits include greater immunity, hormone regulation, and even a longer life – whilst the emotional benefits are too vast to list out.

Try smiling more, even when you don’t feel like it, and watch things that make you laugh when you’re feeling down in the dumps as this is a great way to change your state.  Laughing more can not only lead to you feeling better in yourself but it will also cause a chain-reaction that affects those around you, as we all know that laughter is contagious.

You want to endeavour o leave people, places and things better than how you found them.  You therefore want to aim to have a positive impact on as many people as you can… this doesn’t have to be a huge gesture, either, it can be as simple as a well intentioned smile or an honest compliment.

Feeling beautiful on the inside has a lot to do with how you relate with others.  You want to “pay it forward” and be kind to people, even strangers, as it will improve your self esteem and feeling of self worth.

When you focus on creating value for other people, in all the relationships of your life, from family members and your intimate partner to work colleagues –  these relationships will be much richer and abundant connections that truly enrich you.

Aim to treat the relationships with the people that are important in your life as a place to “give” rather than a place to “get” and you will quickly become a lot more beautiful on the inside.

It is, however, important that you first give to yourself before helping others though, as think of how on an airline will always advise you to tend to your own oxygen mask first, because you can’t help anyone else, unless you help yourself first.
