  1. Overhaul your image

If you lack self-confidence, one of the things that you can do is overhaul your image. The fact is that often, the reason that you lack self-esteem is because you don’t like how you look. While we are taught when growing up never to judge a book by its cover, the fact is that everyone wants to look good, because when you look good, you feel good. So if you aren’t keen on your personal image, for one reason or another, then it could be time to overhaul it. Say that the issue is your teeth, for instance, and the fact that they are stained and chipped, choose to visit the Center for Advanced Periodontal & Implant Therapy, or your local specialist, to have your teeth repaired. Or, say, you hate how frizzy your hair is, book yourself in for a Brazilian blow dry and get your hair under control. If your clothes are the issue – maybe you feel that they are too frumpy or are outdated – then update them. If your image is the issue, take steps to overhaul it.

  1. Be more positive

When it comes to being a happier and more confident person, it is vital that you make an effort to be more positive. The fact is that people who are negative thinkers are twice as likely to lack self-esteem, this is because they always look at everything in a negative light, including themselves. However, if you aim to be more positive, and replace any negative thoughts with positive ones, then you will start to feel better about yourself. Whenever a negative thought enters your mind, replace it with a positive one – do this and you will feel much better for it.

  1. Try something new

An easy way to give your self-esteem a boost is to try something new, something outside of your comfort zone that pushes you to your limits. It’s amazing how taking on an activity that you would not normally do – something that really pushes you – can have such a huge impact on your self-esteem. The fact is that when you do something that you never imagined you could, it changes you, and makes you see that you have the power to do anything. It’s this mindset that helps to give your self-esteem a much-needed boost.

  1. Don’t compare yourself

Why do we do it – compare ourselves to others, pointing out our flaws? For some reason or another, us girls seems to love comparing ourselves to other people, and focusing on what we love about them but hate about ourselves. Instead of doing this, perhaps we should stop comparing ourselves, and instead building each other, and ourselves, up. Focus on what you love about others and what you love about yourself – there is no need for any negativity. Don’t focus on your flaws, focus on the things that you love about yourself instead – the more you do this, the more confident you will become.

  1. Put your health and wellness first

When it comes to your health and wellness, it is easy to put it to the back of your mind. However, if you want to become a more confident person, it pays to put these things first. Because, believe it or not, your health and wellness have an impact on how you feel about yourself as a person. You see, when you lead a healthy life that includes plenty of exercise and lots of healthy food and drinks, and take care of your mental health and wellness, you tend to be happier and more content. When you are happier and more content, you tend to feel better about yourself, which leads to you feeling more confident about who you are and how you look.

  1. Dress to impress

Have you ever wondered why you always tend to feel more confident when you are dressed up nicely? Well, the fact is that when you put some time and effort into your appearance, you naturally feel better about yourself, because you look better. So if you want to feel happier and more confident, taking the time to dress to impress and make more of an effort with your appearance is something that it is worth thinking about doing.  Because by dressing to impress, you will feel so much better about yourself, and your self-esteem will soar because of this.

  1. Don’t take any notice of the media

If there is one thing that has a terrible impact on our self-confidence and self-esteem, it’s the media. The fact is that we live in a world where we are surrounded by images of edited, perfect people, and these images, along with their connotations, can start to take their toll on you and your self-confidence. Don’t worry about what you see of hear in the media, there is no perfect shape or size, we are all unique.
