A Quick Look: Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Fragments and Chaos

Hey everyone!

Today I’ve got Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Fragments and Chaos collection.  The inspiration for this collection is the Japanese anime film studio, Studio Ghibli.  My only foray into anime was back in the mid-90s…Sailor Moon, y’all!  This is also Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer’s Halloween collection, something I noted from the witch’s hat icon on the labels.

The most unique of the collection is I Could See Them Too.  I love the combination of black glitter and iridescent flakes due to the contrast.  A big warning, though:  they don’t call glitter the herpes of the craft world for nothing.  I still have black glitter lurking around my cuticles, despite the deep clean with cotton pads and acetone.  Despite it being in a clear base, it builds up nicely in three coats.

I love the base colors for both I Have Known You Since You Were Very Small and The Best Blaze.  They’re a bit unconventional for a Halloween collection, but I find it refreshing from the typical blacks and oranges.  The glitter on I Have Known You Since You Were Very Small dries a bit gritty, but one application of top coat is enough to smooth it out.

Despite what you see in the non-flash photo, We Fly With Our Spirit’s base color is actually indigo purple.  It dries semi-matte, so I added top coat to make the glass-flecks pop.  If you have shorter nails, you can probably get away with two coats.

Overall, my favorites are I Have Known You Since You Were Very Small (isn’t this the longest polish name ever?) and We Fly With Our Spirit.

I Could See Them Too is $12 (full size)/$6 (mini) and the rest are $8.50 (full size)/$5 (mini).  This collection goes on sale October 28 at 3:30PM EST.
