The Best: Drugstore Beauty Products

The Best Drugstore Beauty Products

I have finally curated a list of my favorite drugstore beauty products. When I call a product drugstore, I am referring to brands that can be found in drugstores, like Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid and other brands; grocery stores, like Kroger, Food Lion, Vowell’s and others; and mass merchant retailers like Target, Walmart, and K-Mart. These are my personal favorite products from the brands I am familiar with. If I did not list a brand, it’s because I’ve never used their cosmetic line before, or I do not use their cosmetic line because they do not offer foundation shades for WOC.

Black Radiance

Black Radiance is the sister company of Wet n Wild Cosmetics. Thanks to poor outreach and marketing in general, Black Radiance is a brand that is looked over. Here are some products that are must haves from Black Radiance:

  • BB Creams- I personally never tried the BB Creams because they are not in my shade range, but here are reviews from a few of my favorite bloggers: Bury Me In Red Lipstick
  • 8 pan palettes- Like Wet n Wild, the 8 pan palettes are good, well pigmented, and under $10. They are guided palettes just like WnW, so you should have no problem creating a great look without the headache.
  • Perfect Tone Lipstick- This collection of lipsticks are perfect for WOC because every tone flatters medium/dark to deep skintones, no questions asked. They are well pigmented, long lasting, and fit every budget.

  • Queen Collection all Day flawless foundation
  • Eye Enhancers 1 kit shadows- these are actually very pigmented.
  • Queen Collection Lip Color- all well pigmented and nothing but shades suited for WOC.

I gave Iman a shot during the release of Skin Tone Evener BB Cream. While there is a good range for WOC, there was not a shade for me. Iman tends to run very red or very yellow in the undertone category. That’s the only product I tried. Afrobella did a review of Iman CC Cream and you can find that here. Clumps Of Mascara reviewed the BB Cream and you can find that here.

I own SOOOOO many of the items listed here lol. Gonna get the Loreal Magic Lumi Primer tomorrow; their foundations (the true match and Lumi true match) are staples in my collection. I’ve had to do a little mixing but when set with a good primer, they’re pretty long lasting.

I really need to try some of the Black Radiance and Iman products. Although I’m on the fair side for an Asian, like everyone else, I’m a huge fan of pigmented eyeshadows & lipsticks. I’ve heard so much about Black Radiance on YT and the blogosphere, I *need* to try something from them at this point!
