New from Black Opal is Black Opal True Color Perfecting Primer. This lightweight primer claims to hydrate like a bb cream, color correct like a cc cream and give the poreless finish of a primer. This seemingly versatile product can be worn alone or under foundation.

Black Opal True Color Perfecting Primer comes in five shades: fair, light, medium, dark and deep. The packaging is a 1.0 fl. oz. tube. Open the cap at the bottom of the tube to reveal a pump for easy dispensing. It takes about 3 pumps to get product out. This product is easy to travel with and easy to store.

Perfecting primer has the texture of a cream foundation with a natural, luminous, demi-matte finish. I spotted tiny flecks of shimmer in every tube, but it is not overpowering, so it is safe to wear alone. Even with my dry skin and a demi-matte finish, I was able to wear without any exacerbation to my dry skin. This is also perfect for someone with oily skin. While I cannot attest to its performance on oily skin, if you are not super oily, I’m confident this will work for you.

The formula is lightweight as Black Opal claims and left my dry skin hydrated, soft and smooth. The texture and finish of my skin is poreless, flawless and gorgeous.

When used as a tinted moisturizer, this primer will make you skip foundation. If your skin is in pretty good condition. It provides light, buildable coverage on its own which is great for someone with a mild case of hyperpigmentation, or a few acne scars or some other slight imperfection they want to cover. Please be sure to set with a powder or setting spray because it does transfer easily. Transfer aside, it lasts 6 hours. But beware that this product contains no SPF for protection from the sun, so at least apply a moisturizer with SPF first.

When used as a primer, Black Opal provides a flawless, color corrected canvas to apply foundation. It gave my skin a sheer wash of color with a poreless canvas to apply foundation. When used as a primer along with foundation and Skindinavia, it lasted roughly 9 hours.
