This summer has been jam-packed with neons by both mainstream and indie polish companies. Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer has a The Darjeerling Limited-inspired neon collection, just in time for one last neon beach pedicure! Unfortunately, I have not seen the movie The Darjeeling Limited, so the references are a bit foreign to me.
40/41 (two coats, full size $12, mini $6): Neon teal with cobalt Nfu.Oh-style flakies. This polish will only be released on August 24 and will not return.
Look At These @#$holes (two coats, full size $8.50, mini $5): Fluorescent red with pink shimmering glass flecks
Stop Involving Me! (three coats, full size $8.50, mini $5): Neon yellow with copper shimmers and gold glass flecks
Thanks For Using Me (two coats, full size $12, mini $6): Neon green with a gold to green to blue shifting shimmer
I am a sucker for neon, so I’m loving all the shades in this collection. The formula of the polishes are mostly two-coaters and easy to apply. Stop Involving Me! is a bit finicky, as is the case with most yellows, but is opaque in three coats. I attempted to water marble these polishes, but no dice…the first color would spread in the water but the second drop would just stay suspended in one little dot in the water.
I’ve also got July’s releases along with the latest limited edition Siren Series polish.
Happy Hour At The Blue Parrot (two coats, $25 in the Destination Duo box): Medium sunny orange jelly with purple and copper shimmers
Siren Channels the 80s (two coats, $8.50): Neon/fluorescent green crelly packed with silver holo, gold holo, lime holo and rainbow iridescent microglitters
Siren’s Mint Smash (two coats, $12): Mint green jelly with gold to green to blue shifting glass flecks
Unfortunately, Happy Hour At The Blue Parrot and Siren Channels the 80s have already been sold out, but Siren’s Mint Smash will be released on August 24. I am absolutely crazy about Siren’s Mint Smash…the gold/green shifting glass flecks perfectly complements the Tiffany blue-green shade. Get this one before it’s gone, because I guarantee it will not last long!
Are you glad summer is finally coming to a close, or are you like me, wondering where the time went? I’ll be back with more goodies this week!
