Essence Cosmetics released a new line of eye shadows: Metal Glam! Essence claims these shadows have a long lasting silky formula with intense metallic chrome effect. There are five shades in the collection and I have swatched three today.
Photos are photographed and swatched from left to right:
Jewel Up The Ocean is a light toned blue with a hint of teal. It’s a very pretty shade that has the best pigmentation of the three eye shadows I swatched. The finish is very shimmery, but not so much metallic.
Coffee To Glow is the sheerest of the three. Coffee To Glow is a light golden tan with a heavy shimmery finish.
Frosted Apple was my favorite of the three, but there’s not much apple about it. Frosted Apple is a medium toned pink with golden undertones and a shimmery finish. This shade reminds me of NARS Orgasm thanks to those pretty gold flashes. I even posted a video on Instagram showing the gold flash if you want to check it out.
All the shadows in the collection have a metallic shimmery overspray that did not skew my views on the colors. Even once you get past the overspray, the shadows are still well pigmented, and the tones are still the same.
Essence Cosmetics Metal Glam Eyeshadows retail for $2.99. You can now pick these up at select Walgreens locations (I have a list, so if you want to know if one is in your area, just comment with what state you live in, and I will let you know).
