Being a guest at one of those fancy Palm Beach, Florida weddings or attending some fashionable shows in New York, may sometimes require wearing expensive clothes. This is why the collaborations between world wide retailers and super famous designers are so successful. Now you can have a Versace design at an H & M price, isn’t this awesome?
However, the idea of mixing up the designers and the retailers was not welcomed thirty years ago by many. It all started when Halston collaborated with JC Penney. This first try, has brought Halston a sense of cheapness in the vision of Bergdorf Goodman that stopped selling Halston’s creations and the whole thing just went bad for the designer. But that was only the beginning and as the time passed this idea became more powerful. Today, these collaborations are happening on a regular basis and are totally loved by the large public.
The grand surprise of this year is the collaboration between Alexander Wang and H & M. It was announced during a party at the Coachella festival and it brought an incredible joy to all the Fashionista’s hearts. On the 6th of November, the collection will be launched in 250 international locations and online. H & M is a retailer that is absolutely open to overcoming borders and creating a platform for creativity. This collaboration is a great way for a larger audience to experience the Alexander Wang brand.
Alexander Wang is the creative director of Balenciaga and since 2007 he has his own brand. The aesthetics that made him famous is based on contrasts that combine sophistication and imperfection. Alexander Wang is one of the most powerful voices in fashion today. His energy and passion for fashion can give H & M an incredible vibe of refinement that is just so needed.
H & M has already made special collections in collaboration with great designers such as Stella McCartney, Maison Martin Margiela, Marni and Isabel Marant .
“Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year,” said Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative advisor.
The collaboration between Alexander Wang and H&M is meant to be successful. The only downside of this news is that it will be a long wait until the 6th of November.
