I am going to start this blog post off with a question- How much do you know about toning? How often do you tone? If you read Glitter.Gloss.Garbage often, then you know that  toner is a skin care product every woman should have in her skincare stash. After washing your face, there is a good chance that all of the day’s dirt, oil and makeup has not been removed. I’m sure you don’t believe me, and that’s fine. I use some of the best and most efficient skin care cleansers on the market- cleansing milks, oils and scrubs. I used my absolute favorite cleanser in the whole wide world, and then toned. Here’s what I found:

Do you see that? Dirt. Filth. Eww. Yuck.

You should tone after cleansing your face to restore natural pH levels, remove dirt, oil, makeup and other environmental pollutants from the skin and deep cleanse the pores.

Fall is a great time to get your skin back in order with Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Cleansing Cloths and Clean Towelettes. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel has been an all natural beauty favorite since 1866 and is the best kept secret for radiant, selfie-ready skin.

I keep a wide assortment of toners in rotation but I have been using Dickinson’s since middle school. I was toning when I didn’t know what toning was, or how important it was to my skin care regimen. Dickinson’s has always been able to cleanse and tone my skin while leaving it soft, supple and clean. How could I not be in love?

I wrote a review back in 2013 about Dickinson’s Refreshingly Clean Towelettes ($5.99) and my opinion of this product has not changed. Check out some of the benefits of the product:

  • Gentle spun lace cloths help extract trapped dirt and oil
  • Formulated with 100% natural witch hazel
  • Sensitive skin friendly
  • Small, individually wrapped size makes them easy to bring anywhere-home, office, beach, sporting events, gym or travel

Dickinson’s has also created cleansing cloths to keep right in your vanity area as well- Refreshingly Clean Cleansing Cloths ($6.99). Check out the benefits:

  • Contains botanical extracts of witch hazel and aloe to cleanse, tone and refresh by lifting dirt, oil and makeup
  • Great for sensitive skin
  • Cloths come in a ready to use vanity pack for ideal at home, daily use
  • Non drying formula cleans deep without stripping skin
  • No sticky residue
  • Soap and fragrance free
  • Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested

Each pack comes with 25 cloths that can be used to remove makeup before cleansing, or to tone after cleansing, or you can do both!

While the ingredients between these two products are the exact same ( Witch Hazel, Benzethonium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate and Aloe Leaf Juice), there are differences between the products. The towelettes are individually wrapped, so they will never dry out as the cloths are in a pop up travel pack. If left open, they can and will dry out. So it is best to keep the cloths handy in the vanity area, and use the towelettes on the go.

I have some of these from when I had a baby. They were cooling and soothing. I never thought to use them for my face.

I have this need to constantly wash my face or at least use wipes to clean it after a long commute. This would be perfect!
