Fall is here, that means I can go back to wearing foundation. During the summer months in Mississippi, there was no way you would convince me to apply foundation, which is why I worked so hard to keep my skin in tip-top condition. But the temps have dropped and I am ready to dive right back in to not only wearing more foundation but reviewing it too.

To kick off #foundationfriday, I’m starting off on the not so heavy side of the foundation world with Hard Candy Glamoflauge Mix-In Pigment Makeup Drops.

CoverFX birthed the foundation drop, which means more affordable brands attempt to follow suit with a cheaper alternative. Foundation drops are nothing more than concentrated drops of pure pigment that help you create your ideal foundation. If you are looking for a matte finish, drop it in your matte primer. Create a tinted moisturizer by adding to your face crème. The possibilities are endless. But at a price tag of $44, the possibilities are also unobtainable for everyone.

I want to get to the hard portion of this review before I get to the easy portion because the shade range is not all that fantastic. I am a huge fan of Hard Candy, but it is no secret that they do not have a suitable range for deeper skin tones. There are 12  shades of Glamoflauge available, and the deepest one is marked Deep 3, which I have right here. Here’s a swatch:

I’ll let you decide for yourself, but for deep skin tones, Glamoflauge does not have the range.

Good news is if you can find a shade that suits you, these drops work like CoverFX. They are a tad thinner in texture which I actually prefer

I mixed Deep 2 and Deep 3 with It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream to create my foundation. I didn’t care to go heavy, I just wanted a tinted moisturizer with a heavier textured moisturizer. Mission accomplished. The finish was very natural, coverage was very light and my moisturizer very heavy, just the way I wanted it.

Overall my sole complaint is the actual color range. The product itself is excellent for this time of year when it is not super hot, but it’s not cold, and you are not ready for full coverage foundation.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Mix-In Pigment Makeup Drops retails $7. Purchase exclusively at Walmart.
