Becca Cosmetics is winning in the world of illuminators, but at $38 per highlighter, that is expensive! Don’t get me wrong, I own one, but the amount of times I’ve used it this year does not justify the price. Luckily for us, there are more affordable illuminators on the market and I have four to show you today. Keep reading to learn more about Hard Candy Just Glow Baked Illuminating Duos, see swatches and more importantly, find out if these are black girl friendly!

Hard Candy Just Glow Baked Illuminating Duo is a universally flattering illuminating powder that is supposed to brighten the complexion with soft focus pearls that blur imperfections and create a radiant glow.

Twinkle Star ($8, 0.41oz)

Twinkle Star is the shimmery duo of the two offerings from this line. The shade to the left is better suited for warm skin tones, it is a copper shade with copper shimmer flecks. The shade to the right is better suited for cool skin tones, it is a silver toned shade with multi-colored shimmer flecks.

Twinkle Star has excellent pigmentation and picks up well with a soft powder brush and blends out to a flawless illuminating shimmer.

Candle Lit ($8, 0.41oz)

Candle Lit is the product you want in your stash if you are into baking. The shade to the left is a soft, iridescent pink with thinly distributed silver shimmery finish. The shade to the right is a cool-toned white with a satin finish. I do not recommend either shade for women of deeper skin tones, they come off as very ashy.
