Ixora Botanical Beauty: Beautiful Cuticle Cream Review

Ixora Beautiful Cuticle (3)

Ixora Botanical Beauty released quite a few new products at the end of 2012- there’s an oil cleanser for the face, lip balms, body sprays and now cuticle cream. Beautiful Cuticle Cream is a rich cuticle cream designed to soften and hydrate dry, cracked cuticles and nourish the nails to promote growth.

Is this cuticle cream  great enough to compete with the cult favorite Lush Lemony Flutter? Keep reading to find out.

Ixora Beautiful Cuticle (1)

Beautiful Cuticle Cream comes packaged in a 2 oz screw top jar. It’s the only size available. The jar is perfectly sized in my opinion because it is small enough to carry in a handbag, sit in a nail kit, or set aside on your desk.

The texture of the cuticle cream is very thick and rich. It has an oily texture, but melts into the skin nicely.  It produces a healthy finish to the cuticles and nails- a very light sheen. Simply put, it is not greasy. Cuticles and nails are instantly moisturized. I would consider this more of a balm than a cream.

The scent is Eucalyptus Spearmint, which leaves the skin with a light combination of fresh Eucalyptus, and fresh minty spearmint. The mint was not overpowering, and the lanolin scent overpowers them both. I’m a mom that used to breastfeed back in the day, so I love the smell of lanolin.

Ixora BB’s cuticle cream is so great, you can use it to touch up just about any dry spot on your body. Knees, elbows, hands… if it’s dry, you can touch it up!

So how does it stack up against Lemony Flutter? Well first of all, it smells better. Lemony Flutter has always had this gross lemony chemical smell in my opinion. Beautiful Cuticles smells so much better. Beautiful Cuticles is also richer in texture, and melts into the skin easier. Beautiful Cuticle is also cheaper; for $10 you get 2 ounces. Lemony flutter is $16.95 for 1.5 ounces. You get more product for a lower price with Ixora.

If you are into the care and upkeep of your nails and cuticles, this is the cream to try!

Here’s a photo of my nails (they broke, yes), after applying the cuticle cream.
