Foundation season is in full effect for me! I avoid foundation during the summer, putting all my focus on skin care- improving my skin’s texture, eliminating hyperpigmentation and providing my skin with much-needed moisture. In addition, it is just too hot for foundation during the summer. But fall is not far away and I am kicking the season off with L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation. L’Oreal calls this foundation a demi-matte with medium coverage and a light formula that provides 24-hour wear. Follow me as I spend the day with Pro Matte.

Overview of my skin- My skin is truly combination, but I suffer from dry skin more so than the oily, especially around the brow area. I have large pores in my cheek area and lots of oil congestion to the left and right of my chin. I prefer a foundation that is not fully matte, as it exacerbates my dry skin, but a demi-matte is fine because of its long lasting properties. My go to foundation is a BB Cream or a foundation with a luminous glow, as it takes attention off my dry skin, especially when I have not exfoliated properly.  I picked the Pro Matte shade Caramel beige (108) which turned out to be a perfect match.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation is packaged in a 1.0fl oz tube with a screw cap and squeeze tube applicator. The outside of the packaging has a see through section to display the foundation’s color, but it is actually about one shade lighter than displayed on the tube.

Pro Matte’s texture is a liquid when dispensed, and turns into a powdery like texture. Be sure to move quickly when you are ready to apply. You have roughly 2 minutes to fully blend all over the face before application becomes some what of a problem. If you find yourself having an issue applying because it has dried, dampen your brush with a light mist of water and continue to blend.

Pro Matte’s finish is demi-matte, which has the finish of freshly washed skin.

So, it’s 8am, all the kids are dropped off at school and it is time to create a beauty look! I decided since this is a L’Oreal post, I would make today a full L’Oreal day from the foundation to the lips. Here’s a full breakdown of everything I’m wearing:

Now that my makeup is done, it is time to move forward with my day! Mondays are always rough for me, because it is traditionally my highest volume email day. I also tend to have more assignments due on Monday than any other day of the week, so I have lots of writing to do, emails to answer, and dinner to plan and prep! So yes, I need to a foundation this is going to last with a pro matte finish!

After 13 hours, my makeup looked fine.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation stayed with me all day long, through the emails, writing, dinner prep and picking the kids up from school. Pick up L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation at a retailer near you for $12.99.

This is the next drugstore foundation I want to try out – appreciate the heads-up that the shades are a little bit lighter than displayed on the tube.
