L’Oreal Paris stepped up the cosmetic game by adding more products to the Lumi line. Lumi is a line specifically designed to illuminate, highlight and give the skin an ethereal glow. L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator is the first mass liquid highlighter specifically designed to highlight key features of the face, or illuminate all over. Illuminators are not highlighters because they tend to give off a more natural glow.
I was in Walgreens a few weeks ago and saw the display, but because my favorite Walgreens location is high volume, everything was already gone. Lucky for me, Walmart revamped their cosmetic section, and not only did they provide better lighting to the area, they also were well stocked in new beauty products.
L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator comes in three shades- one to compliment each skin undertone- warm, neutral and cool. I decided to pick up the neutral shade and the warm shade, skipping the cool illuminator just because I knew it would be something that I would not use one a regular basis.
W101 Gold is a yellow toned gold with golden shimmer. W101 is very soft but subtly shimmery at the same time. Everything I said about N201 applies to W101 as well when it comes to application and blending. W101 works well for someone with warm undertones.
N201 Rose is a rose gold-toned illuminator with gold microshimmer. The shade blended well, but dries really fast so make sure you are working with it in a timely manner. Once it dries, it does not blend very well at all. The shimmer has a tendency to fall into fine lines and just stay there, so make sure you are using a primer before you apply. But once you get it on and blended, it will stay on all day long. N201 Rose works well for someone with neutral undertones.
How to wear:
The L’Oreal website has a few handy charts to show you ways to illuminate your skin. I inserted them below with tips:
Apply Lumi Highlighter in a ‘C’ motion around eyes and cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose
To boost cheekbones, apply Lumi Highlighter in a diagonal line from the middle of your cheekbone towards the hairline. Use fingertips to blend
Apply Lumi above and below the brow bone, blending for a subtle eye opening glow.
Apply Lumi Highlighter down the bridge of your nose and dot into your cupid’s bow to define your pout
