Maybelline Color Show Sequins is a limited edition collection just in time for the holidays and the jewel tone trend. Ruby Rhinestones is one of eight shades offered in the collection, and here’s my swatch… on a nail wheel, but a good swatch nevertheless.
Here’s a close bottle shot of Ruby Rhinestones. It’s a sheer red base with various sizes of red glitter particles; some very small and some very large. There are even a few blasts of black glitter in the bottle, but it mixes so well with the red, it’s not all that noticeable. It all combines for a pretty decent glittery lacquer with a super shiny finish.
I was working, which ended up being very short lived, but while I was there I broke a nail or two or three or maybe even four. I didn’t put on any false nails and seriously, my natural nails are beyond pathetic so on a nail wheel she went!
What you see above is two coats. For this lacquer, a little goes a long way; if you use heavy coats, you are gonna end up with sloppy application, and it’s gonna take forever to dry. Two thin coats will do the trick, especially if you are just using it for a top coat.
Maybelline Color Show Sequins retails for a very affordable $3.99. Try all eight glam-tacular sequin-laden shades: Ruby Rhinestones, Lavender Sparks, Silver Gleam, Gold’s Night Out, Sea-Quins, Rose Bling, Sapphire Masquerade and Cocktail Dress.
