Summer 2014: Milani Matte Bronzer Swatches And Review

Milani Sunset and Milani Vienna

Disclosure: I received this as a press sample, all thoughts are my own.

Every year Milani Cosmetics releases bronzers during the summer, last year was Milani Tantastic, and this year they are Baked Bronzers, but with a twist. Matte finish!

This duo includes two shades, Sunset and Vienna.

Milani Sunset

Milani Sunset (not to be confused with the old Sunset Duos) is the lighter of the duo. Sunset is a light golden tan shade with a matte finish. This will work well on very light skin tones only. I may get some use out of this shade by using it as an eyeshadow. It will never work as a bronzer for me.

Milani Vienna

Milani Vienna is the darker of the bunch. Vienna is a light/medium golden tan with a matte finish. While it is a touch darker, it’s still not wearable for me.

About both bronzers

They are both have a silky, powdery texture and of course as mentioned above, a matte finish. I did test wear and they lasted about 5 hours before they began to fade.

While these bronzers are beautiful in packaging and such, these are not friendly for darker skin tones. Because the shades are so light, paired with the matte finish, they can almost pass as foundation for me. If you are pale or medium skin toned, these are for you. Medium deep and darker? You are not going to be very happy.

What I will say is, if you are light or medium in skin tone, Milani Vienna will work well if you are into sculpting.

The matte finish Milani Matte Baked Bronzers retail for $8.99. They are limited edition so get your hands on them ASAP!
