Milestones are awesome don’t you think? They are like the breadcrumbs that are left behind as we move along in life so if we are ever lost, we can follow those breadcrumbs to see where we’ve passed and moved on from.
A reminder of growth, proof of where you came from, what you’ve endured, where you are. You know what’s funny? When you starting thinking about your milestones, things get blurry. We always remember the first day our baby took his first step, but to sit down and figure out my firsts? My Milestones?
My Milestones as they relate to beauty blogging? Well hmm let’s see (I don’t have that many)
1. My first comment– If you are not a blogger, there’s no way you will understand how special this is. Comments mean everything to me, and it took a long time to get my first one. It’s no surprise it was one of my fellow blogger friends that I love and respect immensely. Leticia from Cosmetics Aficionado. We go back like 4 flats on a Cadillac. Seriously, I’ve known her for like 5 years now.
2.First redesign– Man how many times have I changed my blog’s design? The goal was always a cleaner layout. You may not believe this (or care), but I’m still not 100% satisfied.
This one is from February 2011.
This is from December 2011 my first official layout change. I loved my header image, but I felt like it had nothing to do with my blog, so I got rid of it.
3. Being mentioned in a ‘Top Blog’ post– this is the most bittersweet thing that can happen to you during your blogging experience. On one hand it’s like YAY someone is noticing me! Then on the other hand, they only want you to put their little badge on your site for a backlink.
Thinking about Glitter.Gloss.Garbage., I’ve went so far, but I have such a long way to go. I have days where I love my blog so much, and then there are those days where I want to delete the whole thing and go away. It’s looking back at what I’ve done and my potential that keeps me moving forward.
