Neutrogena is one of my favorite skincare brands found in drugstores. I have been on the hunt for a very gentle cleanser for a few months. This is kinda like the story of Goldilocks and the three skin cleansers: too harsh, too drying, too strongly scented. Most skin cleansers fall into one of those three categories (the ones I have encountered).
Yes, even Dr. Debra Jaliman (remember her book I reviewed? This is one of her must have products) says, “My patients often complain they have to choose between their skin feeling clean or feeling moist. The key is finding a cleanser that doesn’t disrupt skin’s delicate moisture barrier to leave skin not only clean, but also feeling soft and never too dry or too tight.”
Well, Neutrogena has this new Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser made for all skin types, yes even sensitive skin. It rinses clean without over drying, and is soap free, dye free, and wont clog the pores. Can I survive seven days off this cleanser alone?
Too harsh? Absolutely not. It’s ultra gentle and simple cleans the face. No gimmicks. It does not strip your face of it’s natural oils, it’s not going to exfoliate, it’s not going to irritate your skin BUT it’s strong enough to remove makeup!
Too drying? NOPE! You can wash your face with this, and walk away without a moisturizer on your face and you don’t have to worry about your face feeling like dry and tight. I wouldn’t suggest making a habit of washing with this and not following up with a moisturizer, but you can get away with murder every once in a while.
Too strongly scented? Not this product! I am in love with the soft and fresh scent of this cleanser. The scent does not linger on the face for longer than two minutes, so you do not have to worry about it irritating your sinuses. Trust me, I know about that life.
So now you are wondering how you can get your hands on a bottle? Of course you are! Neutrogena wants you to take the seven-day challenge too!
