OPI Hello Kitty Nail Color Swatches And Review

OPI Hello Kitty

Hey everyone!  I’m a bit late to the party, but I’m still here!  Today I’ve got a greatly anticipated collection, OPI Hello Kitty.  Hello Kitty was a massive part of my childhood…I remember visiting the Sanrio store in the mall and the Sanrio kiosk in the Navy Exchange.  My parents used to buy us the $5 surprise grab bags to keep us quiet.  I know I wasn’t the only one hoping for the best with this collection.

There is one major caveat with this collection:  half of the polishes are pink.  If you’re not a pink person, I’d turn away for the first six.

OPI Hello Kitty - Kitty White over Let's Be Friends

Let’s Be Friends (three coats):  pink-tinged white The application on this one was a nightmare.

OPI Hello Kitty - Look At My Bow

Look At My Bow (two coats):  bubblegum pink Every other pink creme, however, has wonderful two-coat coverage.

OPI Hello Kitty - Small + Cute = Heart

Small +  Cute = <3 (two coats):  baby pink

OPI Hello Kitty - Spoken From The Heart

Spoken From The Heart (two coats):  watermelon pink

OPI Hello Kitty - Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel

Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel (three coats):  fuchsia pink glitter

OPI Hello Kitty - Super Cute In Pink

Super Cute In Pink (two coats): orchid pink

Here are the long-awaited other 6 polishes!

OPI Hello Kitty - 5 Apples Tall

5 Apples Tall (two coats): coral red

OPI Hello Kitty - Charmmy & Sugar

Charmmy & Sugar (two coats):  shimmery white with pink/purple shift and multicolored glitter

OPI Hello Kitty - Kitty White

Kitty White (three coats):  white glass-flecks

OPI Hello Kitty - Kitty White over Let's Be Friends

Kitty White (one coat over Let’s Be Friends)

OPI Hello Kitty - My Pal Joey

My Pal Joey (two coats):  primary blue

OPI Hello Kitty - My Twin Mimmy

My Twin Mimmy (three coats):  bright yellow

OPI Hello Kitty - Never Have Too Mani Friends

Never Have Too Mani Friends (two coats):  glossy black

All of the cremes performed just as well as most of the previous pinks, except for My Twin Mimmy.  My Twin Mimmy suffers the same yellow curse:  finicky application.  I find Charmmy & Sugar a bit too busy for a polish…the glitter seems to get lost in the shimmer.  My absolute favorite is 5 Apples Tall…I’m a sucker for coral red.

Overall, I’m happy with the assortment of colors.  A bit of variety with the finishes would be ideal, but it’s a nice set.  Even though I’m over 30, I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for everything Hello Kitty.
