New! Paula’s Choice Peptide Booster: Review, Photos, How To + A Mini-Lesson About Peptides

[maxbutton id=”2″ ]

Paula’s Choice Peptide Booster is a peptide-enriched serum that delivers a dose of eight peptides, amino acids and repairing ingredients to help improve skin texture by reducing the appearance of fine lines. In addition, this booster promises to re-educate the skin to make it look and feel younger, diminish the effects of environmental stress, and help the skin maintain natural moisture balance.

A mini-lesson about peptides

When we have discussions about anti-aging, there is not one single ingredient that is able to fight the signs of aging, but peptides are known to be one of the most important ingredients in the fight. Peptides are protein fragments made up of amino acids. When those amino acids are combined, they create peptides (there are hundreds on the market). When peptides are combined, they create proteins.

Proteins are very important when it comes to the skin. Proteins (*coughs COLLAGEN*) are what help to keep the skin intact. Like hyaluronic acid, the amount of collagen we create on our own decreases as we age, yet it accounts for 75% of our skin (yikes). This caused skincare brands to create products that contain collagen, but collagen molecules are large and can’t penetrate the skin, rendering most collagen products useless. Peptides, on the other hand, can create proteins that tell the skin to make more collagen and repair damaged skin, which is why peptides are so important to add to any anti-aging skincare routine.

The pep squad

Paula’s Choice Peptide Booster contains 8 peptides that work in tandem to dramatically improve the skin in different ways. Let’s check them out:

  • Tripeptide-1: Stimulates collagen and fibroblast production, increasing skin’s firmness
  • Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1: “Tricks” skin into producing more of the right kind of collagen
  • Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7: Calms down the messengers that tell your skin to become irritated
  • Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12: Stimulates cells to produce healthier cells
  • Myristoyl Hexapeptide 16 & Myristoyl Pentapeptide 17: Improves elasticity
  • Hexanoyl Dipeptide-3 Norleuceine Acetate: Helps skin shed and speeds up cell renewal
  • Azelaoyl Bis-Dipeptide-10: Fades hyperpigmentation and dullness for brighter skin and an evener skin tone

How to use

Paula’s Choice Peptide Booster can be easily added to your skincare routine by mixing a few drops of the booster with your favorite serum or moisturizer (non-SPF). You can also apply a few drops to the skin after you tone and continue the rest of your routine as normal.

My thoughts

Paula’s Choice Peptide Booster is packaged in a 0.67 fl. oz. bottle with an eyedropper dispenser. Peptide Booster dispenses with a semi-firm gel-like texture with no scent.  When applied on its own, Peptide Booster is weightless and absorbs quickly into the skin with no greasy feel. When mixed with other serums and boosters, the results are the same, does not cause any pilling and plays very well with other moisturizers.

It has only been a week since I started using it, so I can’t report back with results yet, but the promises, combined with the fact that I trust Paula’s Choice products, is enough to say that I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is noticing a change in skin firmness or texture, and would like to add an anti-aging product to their routine with a solid ingredients list.
