It’s no secret that I am madly in love with Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid, or at least I used to be. PC 2% is great for beginners that are looking to improve texture, unclog pores and reduce visible signs of aging. I feel like I’ve outgrown BHA liquid, mainly because I’m a product junkie and when I found out there was a 4% BHA Texturing Foam, I jumped ship, but my skin? Girl…

Only one problem with that foam- it makes your face smell like fish. Ever opened a can of tuna and got some tuna juice on your finger? Yes, just like that. No, I’m not kidding.

Paula’s Choice Resist Advanced Pore Renewing Treatment 4% BHA is a highly concentrated 4% BHA formula with a serum-gel like texture to penetrate deep in a time released formula that promises to deliver dramatic results to firm texture, minimize the look of pores and visibly fight wrinkles.

Window to gauge how much product you have left

Paula’s Choice Advanced Pore Renewing Treatment 4% BHA is packaged in a small, 1 fl. oz. bottle with a twist cap with eye dropper button on top. I actually like the size of the bottle- it’s small enough to pack, carry, or squeeze into a very large skincare stash. There is a window on the left side of the bottle to gauge how much product you have left in the bottle. The eyedropper picks up a generous amount of serum, almost enough for one application. The product dispenses with ease.

Paula’s Choice Resist Advanced Pore Renewing Treatment 4% BHA is lightly milky in color and has the texture of a serum. This product smells like the 2% BHA liquid initially and dries down to no smell at all. It has a non-greasy feel and absorbs into the skin in less than one minute, with a natural finish (not shiny, not matte).

Where does this go in my routine?

Apply after toning. How often you use it, depends on your personal needs. If you are new to BHA 4%, I would recommend 1x a week and increasing or decreasing as needed.

My thoughts

The first thing I did when this product hit my desk was praying that it was going to be as effective as the texturizing foam without the sticky texture and fishy odor. Well, the skincare gods answered my prayers. I’ve been wearing this for a month now, and I have nothing bad to say about it. Nothing.

It’s everything I wanted in a BHA product that I didn’t know I needed. The texture is perfect, the absorption is phenomenal, there’s no foul odor, the formula is lightweight, the delivery is time released, my skin looks brand new when I wake up in the morning, I can keep going….
