It can be difficult to fit a proper workout into your life. If you feel like you’re busy all the time, you might think you don’t have time for working out. You’ve got too much to do, and previous attempts to work out have meant you’ve lost at least a couple of hours out of your day. However, you can get a good workout each day in just a few minutes if you know how to fit it in. A ten-minute workout can help you work up a sweat, or just get you moving for a little bit during a mostly sedentary day. Try some of these possibilities for a quick but effective workout.
Yoga in the Morning
Getting up in the morning is tougher for some than for others. It can be hard to get yourself going, and exercising too hard can sometimes just make you feel a bit nauseated. But a bit of gentle exercise can be just what you need to wake up your body and your mind. Some yoga, or just any stretching, is a great idea to help you get going when you roll out of bed. You can find some easy ten-minute videos to follow along online, like the YouTube videos from Yoga with Adriene. You probably won’t work up a sweat, so you can even do it in your pajamas.
Stretching at Your Desk
A lot of people spend a huge portion of their day sitting at a desk. It’s not great for your back or neck, or the rest of your body, in fact. You might find time during your breaks for a quick walk around the office or trip out to get some lunch, but you’re stuck at your desk for most of the day. If you don’t have any choice but to sit there, you can do some stretches to give your body a helping hand. You can’t necessarily do the kind of workout that’s going to help you lose weight or get fit. But it will help you to loosen up during the day and keep your joints and everything else healthy. You can also put in a bit more effort if you don’t mind looking a little odd to your colleagues (and you’re wearing loose enough clothes).
Bodyweight Exercises in Your Home
Using your bodyweight to exercise is a great way to keep fit with little or no equipment. You can do things like pushups to work out without needing any equipment. But if you do want to buy anything, one of the best things you can get for home is a pull up bar. You can do a pull up home workout just about anytime you feel like it. Put the bar in any doorway in your home, and do a few pull ups every time you walk through it. You can also do exercises that are good for cardio, like jump squats or high knees.
If you’re short on time, you can still find ways to fit workouts into your day. You only need ten or 20 minutes to get in a good workout.
