So you’re friend or family member is getting married, and you’re on the guest list. When you’re a wedding guest pro, or this will be your first, it can often be helpful to work out what you can do to be the best guest in attendance. You might not know how important it is to the bride and groom for you to stick to the rules right now, but if you ever get married some day – you’ll find out. In short, you’re going to want to behave in a way that you’d want other guests to behave – and here’s how to do it.

Stick To The Dress Code

Firstly, you’re going to want to make sure that you adhere to any dress codes that are set – in writing or otherwise. When you’re attending a wedding, sometimes you have to work out what will be appropriate. Your outfit of choice should not only be conservative (because even the most simple of weddings is still a wedding) but fit in with style too. Sometimes, the time of year or location can give you points here.

Be On Your Best Behaviour

Although you may not realize it, there are actually many ways that guests (or even the bridal party) can ruin a wedding. And when you get married, you’re probably going to want to ensure that nothing or nobody can ruin your wedding. So, as a guest, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re on your best behavior. On top of that, you’re also going to want to make sure that your children are on their best behavior too.

Be On Time

Lateness can be frustrating in any situation, but it can be infuriating when it comes to weddings. If you want the bride and groom to like you still, you’re going to want to make sure that you are on time – for everything. The bride or groom are allowed to keep you waiting on their wedding day – because it’s all about them, but you have to be on time and for each part. So, make sure you know the time of the ceremony and reception, to make sure you’re not late.

Get Your Gift Together

When you go to a wedding, you’re required to bring a gift – even if the bride and groom say that it’s not necessary. So, when you get a wedding invitation, you’re going to want to make sure that you sort out your gift early and get in quick. You can find great gift ideas for any wedding online and in magazines if the bride and groom haven’t registered, or if you’re not sure what you want to get them.

Have A Good Time

And then, of course, you’re going to want to make sure that you have a good time! Every wedding should be enjoyable, and the bride and groom will always want to make sure that you’re enjoying yourself – so make it happen. Let your hair done and enjoy celebrating the occasion in style – just make sure that you’re the perfect guest in the process.
